About Rebecca O’Leary
Rebecca O’Leary is a Philadelphia-based art consultant, curator, and project director with more than two decades of experience shaping high impact, site-specific art programs for corporate, civic, and cultural organizations. O’Leary leads a collaborative team of artists, fabricators, and project managers to develop tailored, immersive art installations for interior and exterior environments. Each project is expertly designed to.align with the client’s mission, brand identity, and community vision.
O’Leary specializes in inclusive wayfinding strategies and public art initiatives that enhance user experiences, deepen audience engagement, and elevate visibility across sectors—from healthcare to higher education, banking, hospitality, and municipal development. O’Leary has brought her expertise to a diverse range of organizations, including Temple University, Capital One, and Kaiser Permanente — developing art collections and educational programs that prioritize underrepresented voices and local talent. O’Leary founded her art advisory firm in 2004 in Los Angeles. As a principal art consultant, curator, and project director, she has managed projects ranging from small business commissions to multi-million-dollar public art installations.
While in Los Angeles, O’Leary organized Warhol to Watts, a landmark museum exhibition that paired Warhol’s Athletes series with original artwork by teens from underserved communities. She was a founding collaborator of the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk, launched in partnership with PHARMAKA Gallery and the Historic Core BID. She secured sponsorships and media partnerships with Bravo TV, 944 Magazine, LA Times, and KQED.
As Public Art Project Manager for Isenberg + Associates, Los Angeles’ premier public art consulting firm, O’Leary directed the production of a $2M+ public art installation by Ball-Nogues Studio for Monarch Builders, prominently located at the intersection of La Brea and Santa Monica Boulevard.Her clients and collaborators included Curatorial Assistance Traveling Exhibitions, Art Miami + Context, Timothy Yarger Fine Art, Gallery of Functional Art, the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, PHARMAKA Gallery, and the renowned collector Richard Weisman. As Interim Executive Director of the historic Fleisher Art Memorial, O’Leary provided strategic leadership during a critical transition. She oversaw a major organizational restructuring, implementing transparent management of a $3M budget, growing the endowment to $20M, and expanding the constituent base by 30%. During her tenure, she produced multiple exhibitions, including Dox to Light: The Life and Works of Dox Thrash, commemorating Fleisher’s 125th anniversary. She also commissioned the institution’s first permanent, site-specific stained-glass installation by Sharyn O’Mara, funded by the Philadelphia Foundation and the Edna Andrade Fund. O’Leary’s background includes executive management, business development, media strategy, and public art administration. Her work consistently centers on the transformative power of art to communicate values, foster belonging, and activate public and private space.
